Baitrunner Reels

A baitrunner reel is a reel which is identical to a fixed spool reel
except for one feature, the baitrunner feature.
This feature makes it possible to bait fish with a closed bail
but still have the reel in total free spool.

The free spool tension is adjusted on a finger screw located at the rear of the reel.

The free spool tension is adjusted according to the used bait.
It is set loose when fishing with dead bait but a bit tighter
when fishing with live bait to keep the bait in the desired area.

When the handle is turned, the baitrunner feature is disabled and the tension
is adjusted on the main drag system while the fish is being fought.

Main drag settings are adjusted
at the front of the spool by a finger screw.

This reel is fitted on a 7 foot custom built catfish rod.
It is standard equipment when freshwater fishing with
