Game Rods
A game rod is a quit simple rod build to provide sufficient leverage
for the angler to lift the fish and be able to pull
close to the lines breaking strength.
At the very bottom of these rods is fitted a gimbal (cross), serving the purpose
of keeping the rod in place while trolling it from the rod holder,
fighting fish from the fighting chair or standing with a rod belt.
Next part is the butt. This serves the purpose of raising the reel
into a comfortable position during the fight, and is therefore longer
on rods designed to use from the fighting chair, then on stand-up rods.
Some anglers prefers to use a curved (bent) butt on their chair rods,
which provides more leverage when fighting big fish.
Just over the butt is the reel seat, where the reel is mounted
with heavy duty collars over the feel of the reel.
On most reels it is also possible attach a rod clamp for extra strength.
Next is the foregrip where the anglers left hand is placed
to pump the fish during the fight.
To avoid cramp, is it very important that this part is
as comfortable as possible for the individual angler.
The top part is the actual rod blank where the line guides are fitted.
These guides can be plain ceramic ring guides, roller guides
or a combination of ring guides and a top roller.

is used by Thai Fishing Guide on Big Game fishing trips.
