Rod Belt

When targeting bigger fish on stand-up rods, a rod belt is essential.

They come in various different designs, but all serve the same purpose,
which is to protect the angler's stomach from bruising and to hold the rod butt
in a comfortable position during the fight.

Most models are made of hard plastic that spreads the load across the stomach
and thighs, making it easier for the angler to concentrate on fighting the fish.

Furthermore, some models have a cup that hinges and pivots on a gimbal pin
for up and down movement.

On the most modern rod belts this cup is shaped so that the rod can also move
left and right thereby helping the angler to steer and control fast moving fish.
