A multiplier reel is a reel with a spool that is centred between two side plates.
The drag settings of the spool can be either a star-drag or a lever-drag system.
The free rotating spool provides less friction than fixed spool reels thereby offering
greater casting distance and accuracy. Control of the cast is also an advantage of these
reels since the spool first can be slowed and then stopped when the bait hits the water.
The Axis Version 2 is the result of Shimano's succes with the Axis series.
It features A-RB ball bearings that are much more resistant to corrosion
than normal stainless steel bearings, and makes this reel
a super choice for any serious saltwater angler.
