Shimano Calais - Baitcasting Reel

A baitcasting reel is a low profile reel with a spool centred between two side plates,
and a built-in star drag system. They feature a thumb button to activate
the free spool mechanism prior to a cast. The free rotating spool provides
less friction than fixed spool reels thereby offering greater casting distance
and accuracy. Control of the cast is also an advantage of this reel since the spool
first can be slowed and then stopped when the bait hits the water.

Shimano Calais baitcasting reels are available with a gear ratio varying
from 5,0:1 to 6,2:1. Shimano Calais features
Shimano’s VBS System (Variable Brake System),
Super Stopper anti-reverse, Quickfire II clutch. The 10 ball bearings
and one stainless steel roller bearing give them a remarkable smoothness,
when casting as well as retrieving.

Please note that model number CL-200MG-5 is for use in freshwater only,
and use in brackish or saltwater will void warranty.
