Shimano Freestone models are available for two types of fly-fishing applications. These two applications
require different rod actions and different rod centring: one for tackling tricky casting in streams
while the other for lake, pond and big river areas that require powerful and long distance casts.
Taking into consideration long hours spent standing when fly fishing, Shimano Freestone rods
are designed to be as light as possible without compromising on performance or comfort.
The blanks are 100% carbon with Hi-power X-structure construction while guides
are hard chromium SiC type seated in Titanium frames. The reel seat is made
of high quality wood and features an aluminum screw lock.
