A baitcasting reel is a low profile reel with a spool centred between two side plates,
and a built-in star drag system. They feature a thumb button to activate
the free spool mechanism prior to a cast. The free rotating spool provides
less friction than fixed spool reels thereby offering greater casting distance
and accuracy. Control of the cast is also an advantage of this reel since the spool
first can be slowed and then stopped when the bait hits the water.
Tica Sculptor's one-piece machined aluminum frame houses not less
then 12 precision ball bearings. It has a star drag with a clicker,
and the spool brake system can be adjusted with a single finger.
A single screw allows easy access to the forged aluminum-alloy spool.
